【才华横溢出新秀2003】总决赛成绩出炉，男女冠军皆以大热门 胜出！其中，全场年纪最小的陈凤玲就一人囊括3个奖项，包括女冠军、最有活力女新秀和 最具演技潜质奖。

在演技方面表现出色的新加坡新秀李企扬赢走了最有性格男新秀；赛前大热门马来西亚的戴倩云则捧走最具歌舞潜质奖。

She may be small in stature but Singapore finalist F6 Felicia Chin’s certainly big on charm and acting ability, just like her mega-sized role of iron-lady Mo Wanwan played by actress Chen Liping in Channel 8 drama Holland V.

At the Star Search Grand Finals held ‘live’ yesterday, Felicia showed that being the youngest contestant (she’s only 18) is no barrier to winning the biennial talent quest now in its 8th year.

The pint-sized contestant with an ever-ready impish beam caught the judges’ eyes and walked away with not just the title of female champion but also 2 out of the 5 subsidiary awards – Ms Vitality and Best Acting Potential.

During the 3-hour power-packed competition, the 12 finalists competed in the areas of star appeal, acting, singing and dancing, and hosting and they were judged by a panel of distinguished judges which included singer Stefanie Sun, Hong Kong director Wu Siyuan, Phoenix InfoNews Channel Presenter Sally Wu Xiaoli, and MediaCorp’s very own Xie Shaoguang and Zoe Tay as well as Madam Chua Foo Yong (CEO, MediaCorp TV and Mr. Chang Long Jong (CEO, MediaCorp Studios) amongst others.

“I feel she has this X-factor. She doesn’t immediately catch your attention. But when she’s on stage, she’s so spontaneous, so radiant and glowing and you will immediately start to notice her, ” Mr Chang said.

As winners, Cui Peng and Felicia each received an artiste contract with MediaCorp, a car and $10,000. As for the length of contract, it should be a 3-year one but that is still subjected to further discussion with the 2. The other subsidiary awards went to hot fave Li Qiyang (Mr Charismatic) from Singapore and Dai Qiayun (Best Singing & Dancing Potential) from Malaysia.

But that’s not the end of the road for the other finalists who have made it so far. The good news: MediaCorp would be offering contracts to more than just the 2 winners.

Said Mr Chang, “Apart from top 2 winners, we will be discussing amongst ourselves in the next few days and looking at the finalists again and decide on the people we want to sign on. There’ll be definitely more than the top 2 winners.

When probed futher, Mr Chang revealed, “At the moment, it would be at least 3 or 4 more. But we will to look at the outcome of our discussion and decide.”
